Hogsthorpe Primary Academy celebrates brand new building

Pupils, parents and staff at Hogsthorpe Primary Academy were delighted to welcome former Team GB swimmer, Grant Turner, for the official opening of their new building last week.
The event marked the opening of two brand new classrooms, a new dining hall, communal facilities and an outdoor learning area for early years pupils.
After officially opening the new building, Grant, a former Olympic and Commonwealth swimmer spent the day talking to pupils and their parents about the keys to his success, the importance of believing in yourself and achieving your personal best.
This was followed by a talent show, where every pupil across the academy used their creative talents to put together a unique performance for the audience.
Grant Turner said: "It was a pleasure to meet the pupils, parents and staff at Hogsthorpe. I was really impressed by the level of talent I saw at the academy, it is clear that pupils are encouraged to pursue their dreams and achieve their ambitions. Now they have a learning environment to match this ethos."
Karin Nicholls, Headteacher at Hogsthorpe Primary Academy, added: "Our new facilities have completely transformed the learning environment for our pupils.
"We now have a dedicated early years area, with state-of-the-art equipment, as well as a brand new school hall that the whole academy and local community can enjoy.
"The pupils were thrilled to meet Grant Turner and we had a brilliant day celebrating our amazing academy."
