Pupils coached by table-tennis champion

Hannah Hicks, International table-tennis champion, made a special visit to pupils at Hogsthorpe Primary Academy.

Ranked number 3 in England, Hannah held masterclasses with the pupils along with a question and answer session.

She also took the time to coach Year 6 pupil and keen table-tennis player, Darcie, who plays for the county.

Darcie said: “Being coached by Hannah was a fantastic opportunity and I learnt a lot.”

Hannah is working with students across the David Ross Education Trust to inspire young people to get involved in sport.

Karin Nicholls, Headteacher, said: “We are delighted that Hannah took the time to come and coach our pupils and I think they all really enjoyed themselves.

This is a unique opportunity for our children to learn from one of the best players in the country and as an academy sponsored by the David Ross Education Trust, we work hard to make sure all of our pupils benefit from unique experiences like this one.”
