Principal's Welcome

A warm welcome from Emily Wood, Principal at Hogsthorpe Primary Academy.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our school website, as Principal, I offer you a warm welcome on behalf of our whole school community.  Our school is a small, rural primary, nestled within the delightful village of Hogsthorpe, only a few miles from the beautiful and expansive east coast of Lincolnshire.  We are proud to be part of the David Ross Education Trust which allows us to work in collaboration with bigger schools in Skegness, as well as opportunities to work with and learn from the other national schools within the trust.
The staff at Hogsthorpe are committed to fostering links between the school, the home and the community.  We seek to ensure our pupils are caring, well-educated, well-adjusted and law-abiding citizens.  We seek not only to provide an environment which promotes achievement in learning but also one of warmth, security and care, valuing each member of the school community and working to encourage the realisation of each individual’s potential.
June 2024 was the Ofsted inspection, graded ‘Good’.  The report pleasingly opens with this statement:  Hogsthorpe Primary Academy is an inclusive school where pupils get the opportunity to shine.  It is a welcoming place, and pupils are very supportive of each other.
For all the latest news, events, calendar dates and further information about our school, please visit other pages on this website.  The best way to find out about our school is to come and visit us, and whilst you do perhaps treat yourself to lunch at the tearoom opposite, a refreshing drink from one of the pubs or a walk around the medieval grade I listed St Mary’s Church.  And, of course, a trip to the coast would not be complete without an ice-cream from the local farm shop or nearby seaside!
